Thanks to the generous contributions of several Richmond community members, we are proud to unveil the brand-new Bobcat Flagpole—now standing tall behind home plate at Richmond Middle/High School's baseball field! The flagpole, proudly topped with our Bobcat mascot, was officially dedicated last night before the quarterfinal playoff game. The Maine Army National Guard, American Legion Post 132, the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department, and the Richmond Police Department had the honor of presenting the very first flag to be raised. We are so grateful to our community for making this lasting symbol possible. #BobcatPride

Congrats to RHS senior Brady Alexander, whose outstanding skill, dedication, and work ethic in the Electrical Technology program (and previously Building Construction) has earned him the honor of CATC Professional of the Month for April! From CATC: Brady Alexander, a senior from Richmond High School, is enrolled in the Electrical Technology program. Last year, he completed the Building Construction program. Brady has especially enjoyed the hands-on aspects of the programs at CATC, and he takes pride in the reward of seeing what he’s created come to life. This year, Brady won the local SkillsUSA competition in Residential Wiring and went on to compete at the state level, where he earned a silver medal by placing second. The competition lasted five hours and evaluated participants on craftsmanship, technical fundamentals, safe work practices, and overall completeness. His task involved installing a panel with boxes and wiring switches and receptacles. Outside of school, Brady plays sports at Richmond High School. He was a member of the state champion soccer team and is currently in the midst of baseball season. In his free time, he enjoys building projects around the house and spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. His instructor, Mr. Chip Eastman, shared, “From day one, Brady has shown a level of dedication, precision, and curiosity you don’t see often. Whether it’s wiring a panel or troubleshooting a complex circuit, he approaches every task with focus and professionalism. I have no doubt he’ll be a leader in this field one day.” Brady is currently exploring his options and seeking the best opportunity to enter the workforce after graduating in June.

ACDA All-National—Gavin Grover Congratulations to Gavin Grover (Class of 2025), who will represent Richmond High School as a member of the American Choral Directors Association 2025 All-National High School Honors Mixed Chorus in Dallas, TX. This chorus is composed of 360 10th–12th graders from across the United States. Gavin was one of eight (!) bass-baritones to be chosen from the entire ACDA Eastern Division, a region that encompasses New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware. To be selected for this prestigious ensemble, Gavin had to prepare and submit an online audition that was adjudicated by a panel of distinguished choral professionals. This honor comes one year after Gavin was one of three RHS students who participated in the 2024 ACDA All-Eastern Honor Choir. Gavin is only the second singer from Richmond High School to have ever been selected for an ACDA All-National Honor Choir. His experience will include three FULL days (8:00 a.m.–9:30 p.m.) of rehearsals with renowned director Chris Maunu, and culminate in a public performance on the last day of the festival. Congratulations, Gavin, and break a leg!
