Greetings Families!
I hope this finds you well and enjoying the long weekend.
We have had a great couple of weeks at school since I last wrote. Teachers quickly (amazingly) had students back into the routines of learning after the Christmas break. As I've visited classrooms in recent days, I have seen excellent instruction and engaged learning everywhere I go. Throughout the school, I've seen many staff members helping a student develop the personal and social-emotional skills to participate fully in their community.
I thank the grownups at home and the Marcia Buker Team for your commitment to the teaching of Martin Luther King. Jr., whose life we honor this holiday weekend: "Intelligence plus character-that is the goal of true education."

Weekend Backpack Food Program Sign Up
The MBES backpack program provides free food for students to bring home every week during the school year. If your family could benefit from this program, all it takes is for you to let us know by filling out a quick sign up slip. The slip was sent home with students last week. You can complete that form and send it back with your child, or you can access the form by clicking the link above.
Lost and (not yet) Found
If you recognize any of the clothing items we've collected, ask your child to pick it up, or give us a call, and we'll help.
