Seasons Greetings once again Bobcat Families!
I hope you are feeling the spirit in your household. It's hard to believe we only have one full week left before the Christmas break. It will be a much needed chance to refresh our spirits, spend time with loved ones, and enjoy winter in Maine.
Trimester 1 Report Cards: You should have received your child's Trimester I report last week. As you look at the report and talk about it with your child, remember that, for many of the skills listed, the score your child's performance received reflects new learning, practice, and assessment over a 3-month period. Most skills are revisited and reinforced, and become more complex as the year progresses. I can tell you that, based on what I see every day--challenging lessons being delivered in classrooms, teacher teams planning together how to meet student needs, students receiving individualized support and interventions, and Unified Arts teachers holding students to high expectations--your children are working very hard. I hope you will celebrate their achievements and encourage them to stay interested and curious.
Hard work and high expectations were evident at the grade 4 and 5 Holiday Band and Chorus Concert last week. What a transformation from the students' first days with unfamiliar instruments, undecipherable notes, foreign lyrics, and complex music to the talent we heard on Wednesday and Thursday. Bravo to Mrs. Shively and her students!
This week, we are looking forward to the Holiday Bazaar on Friday. Thanks to the many generous donations of gently used and new items, students should be able to find the perfect gifts. Students who participate are asked to bring $1.00 with which to purchase two gifts. Volunteers will help the children shop and place items in gift bags. Please contact Kerry Gardner, Chief Holiday Bazaar Elf, with any questions.

Help us Limit Illness at School
We are seeing stomach bugs and respiratory viruses circulating at school. If your child is not feeling well, please keep them home until they are improving. We thank those of you who are following this practice and letting us know your child is not feeling well.
