Cafeteria

Greetings Families!

I hope you are enjoying this nice fall weekend!

Our first full week of school is already behind us! It was a good week for students to learn and relearn routines and expectations at school and on buses. Most are making the transition well! We appreciate your support and help at home conveying to your children the importance of following rules, having safe bodies, and doing one's very best. Check out our student Pawsitive Paw recipients at the end of this letter!

This week we welcome our PreK students on Monday! A very large collective "we" has spent most of the summer preparing for our expanded PreK program, and we are excited to open the "Bobcat Den" doors, for the first time ever, to the class of 2039!

To help capture the first days of the 2025-26 school year for all of our students, school pictures will be on Tuesday, September 16.

We hope to see you for open house on Thursday! Open house is a time for seeing your child's classroom and the school, saying hello to teachers, and getting a sense of the curriculum in your child's grade-level. Please understand that conversations about individual student progress, behavior, medical needs, or other matters must be scheduled for a different time and place.

The PTG meets on Wednesday at 6:00 PM. Email marciabukerptg@gmail.com for information!

It's shaping up to be an active and fun week at Marcia Buker, and we are looking forward to spending it with our students and their families!

In partnership with you,

Principal Mary Paine

Message from Nurse Ashley DeWever

Hello Families!

Please send in flu shot forms by next Friday, September 19th. Our flu clinic is October 1

If possible, please pack an extra pair of pants and a shirt for your child just in case of a spill or a fall at recess!

AM Parent Drop-off Reminders

Save teacher parking spaces: If you arrive early to wait for the doors to open, please do not block the teacher parking spaces on your right.

Pull ahead for lengthy drop off: If you or your child needs more time getting out of the vehicle and walking to the door, please pull ahead beyond the drop-off location to allow other parents to proceed. Many people are trying to quickly drop off their children and get to work on time.

September Menus

It Takes a Village

A boost for our music program: We are grateful beyond words to Herd Flock for the stunning $1000.00 donation to our Marcia Buker music program. Regular music classes, musical theater, band, and chorus are all very expensive programs, and this donation will help so much to keep our music program strong. Thank you Herd Flock, and to all who attended the festival in August, making this generosity possible!

Music donation

Pantry and cupboard shelves less bare: Thanks to our community partners and families who have helped us stock our snack cupboard and our Weekend Backpack Program pantry. The start of the year is always a challenge, and we really appreciate the donations!

Pawsitive Paws: Each morning, during announcements, we shout out the names and acts of students who have been recognized by a staff member for making a positive difference in our school. Their names are then added to our main entrance bulletin board!

Congratulate these Pawsitive Paw recipients of the last two weeks when you see them!

Have a wonderful week!
