Pie in the face

Greetings Families!

Happy Fathers Day to all who are celebrating and remembering a special dad in your lives. What a beautiful day!

We had a great final full week at Marcia Buker. We graduated our PreK students, started screening for next year's class, had the Bikes for Books drawing, said good by for the summer to our rising first graders, had a grade 5 farewell party, went on a couple of trips, and had a lot of fun on Field Day! Hard to believe it was only 5 days!

This week, we will have our Grade 5 Promotion ceremony on Monday at 1:00 PM. Tuesday is our last day of school and is an early release. Buses will arrive at 11:30 with pick-ups to follow.

You can expect your child's trimester 3 report to come home this week, if it hasn't already, along with various artifacts and belongings from school. We have quite a few items in the lost and found, so if you are missing something, ask you child to check the table!

The last few days of school bring a mixture of emotions. It's a time of tearful goodbyes and the anticipation of summer. As we close out the 24-25 school year, I feel proud to work alongside a distinguished team of educators and grateful to work in the vibrant, steadfast community of Richmond.

Thank you for the privilege of teaching and nurturing your children. Though we all need a chance to reflect, refresh, and reset, we will miss our students!

I will be in touch a few times this summer with school supplies lists, the updated Student and Family Handbook, and other news.

Meanwhile, enjoy every second of summer in Maine!

It Takes a Village

We thank Master of the Lodge Dave Thompson, Senior Warden Clayton Grimm and their Village Lodge #26 for inspiring students to read with the Bikes for Books program. We know that many students worked very hard, reading as much as they could to be included in the drawing. In all, 12 (TWELVE!) bikes were awarded to the fortunate winners.

Bike winnersThanks to the PTG for a really fun ending to the year. On Field Day morning, the Marcia Buker Staff were treated to music and a soft drink cart being pulled through the school. Then, they treated students to rainbow fruit cups. Then, they hosted the now annual Pie in the Face event!

Thank you, PTG! You make so much possible! And, you make fund raising fun!

Bobcat Sightings

Instead of a video this week, I've created a Google folder where you can explore photos and videos! We will possibly add more content as the year comes to an end, so check back at the end of the week.
