Dear Marcia Buker Families,
There is nothing like the feeling of springtime at school. The air is filled with gentle scents of blossoms and new grass, and school is all about culminating rituals and performances. It's a time of both reflection and awakening.
Last week featured the start of spring state assessments for our older students, and in PreK practicing songs for "graduation." In the middle, our K, 1, and 2 students performed the final music concert of the 2024-25 school year. A special thanks goes to Music Teacher Amanda Shively. Her skills, talents, and vision combine to make every student feel and convey the joy of music all year long. You can see that joy come through in the Bobcat Sightings video below.
This week, our 5th graders will travel to Boston on Friday to visit the Museum of Science, the annual class trip signifying the end of elementary school. We thank teachers Troy Kendrick and Lois Garriepy for supporting students all year in raising money to pay for the trip, and the community members who contributed to the cause. Thanks also to our parent chaperones who will help make the occasion safe, memorable, and fun.
Please be reminded that this Friday, May 23rd is an early release day, and we have no school Monday, May 26th in observance of Memorial Day.
With appreciation,
Mary
We envision a collaborative culture where the community unites to foster engaging learning experiences that empower students to thrive in a diverse and ever changing world.

On Thursday, as we were getting set up for the K-2 concert, we realized that we would likely run short of chairs for the large crowd this particular concert would bring in. But it was our RMHS neighbors who saved the day. Thanks to Chelley Choate and Irene Adams who arranged a rush delivery, and the high school students who wheeled the caddy of folding chairs across the walking path to our school and helped set up the chairs, just in the nick of time! Thank you!
